Sensitive Care Provides Volunteer Dentistry in Haiti

In January, 2007, Dr. Mitchell I. Quintner, along with his wife Janet James and son Alex (who is in his third year of dental school), made their annual trip to Haiti to provide volunteer dental services to those in need.

"We've participated in this worthy cause for eight years now. I'm not sure who benefits more, the patients I treat down there or us, considering the heartfelt sense of accomplishment we return with," says Doctor Quintner. His wife, Janet assists in the dentistry, as well as interacts and falls in love with the children. Along with providing dental care, they bring along food, clothing and toys for the children.

Doctor Quintner is a dedicated member of the Milford Rotary Club, which has donated over $30,000 to the Haitian Health Foundation (HHF), a nonprofit organization. HHF provides public health and clinic-based outreach programs to 200,000 people in 104 villages. The funds raised by the Club have provided money for building homes and villages, constructing an outpatient clinic and setting up a feeding and education center for pregnant women and malnourished children.

The HHF recruits all levels of volunteers in the areas of healthcare, carpentry and electrical skills. It is a wonderful organization and Dr. Quintner and his family are proud to be a part of it!
